Georgia Blooddrag

Photography:  Kenny Higgins

Look out America, they have dusted off the mini trucks and let them out to play! Blood Drag has opened the doors for the season with a huge turnout as expected. The sweet sound of metal dragging on concrete filled the Georgia air. I love it! The rides were hot, the Hooter girls were hotter, and I got my first sunburn of the year. Speaking of Hooters, the after party with Sickness video playing on most the TVs and all the minitruckers made for one entertaining evening, I think I saw a hoola-hoop and a beer bong at some point in time. But not to be distracted, the show was awesome! Little Shop made their appearance with some amazing creations, also saw some pretty incredible metal fab from Thatcher Fabrication. But don't forget all the spectacular work coming from backyards and home garages, built with hard work, true passion and probably all the money they have  to spend, because that's what this game is all about! Also,  I have to say I truly enjoyed the kids that were involved in this show.  I got to meet quite a few proud dads who brought their little helpers to enjoy the great environment this show has to offer. Blood Drag is hands down a must attend show so don't miss it in 2011!

Voodoo Rides
Did you know that it is possible to obtain 350 horsepower from a naturally aspirated Honda? Well Voodoo Rides brought out their race car to prove it. This b20 block and b16 head combination would take your breath away if you were standing close while it was running. Hope you got the chance to meet the driver, Robert Tighe, Good chance your going to be seeing alot him soon!

Good Guys truck
When Terry Temples bought this 1959 Chevrolet 43 years ago from the original owner he didn't even make it home with it before it broke down. But Terry didn't give up this truck thankfully, otherwise we would not have the pleasure of seeing this gorgeous piece of history here today. There is no question how this truck was nominated for the "Truck of the Year" award from Good Guys. But don't let it's good looks fool you, Terry has backed this baby up with a 500 horsepower 350 built by Twister Engines. It took Terry 3 1/2 years to get this truck back in shape, and it truly shows! Congratulations Terry!
